Mastering Intensive

A 6-week program of structured mentorship and learning, accessed through our learning platform. Several hours of videos per week with how-tos and at-home assignments. Access to weekly mentorship time. Demo tracks and other materials (e.g. audio multitracks, samples and MIDI files) to practice with and complete at-home assignments. Access to our online community, with exclusive opportunities and active user groups. Lifetime access to all learning materials.

The exact timings will depend on how many students join the cohort, as this will dictate how many calls we host per week. The calls will be spread throughout the week to cover all time zones. If you can't attend a call live, you can submit questions ahead of time and catch the replay.

Yes, all aspects of the Mastering Intensive program are online. Class materials will be provided through our learning portal and you will have access to live, online mentorship sessions throughout the 6 weeks of the course.

You can scale your hours up or down to fit your schedule, and there aren't set times for you to watch the curriculum. But at a minimum, we expect attendees will commit around an hour per weekday during the 6 weeks.

You'll need a computer and DAW, a decent internet connection, and commitment to learning in a group setting.

As part of the mentorship and feedback program, you will get tons of practice tracks and exercises, plus live feedback sessions. After the six weeks have finished, you will have unlimited, lifetime access to the course materials and recordings shared during this course.

While this program is designed more for producers who are stuck at the "intermediate plateau", beginners are also welcome and will be supported through our weekly mentorship calls. There will just be a steeper learning curve!

The video curriculum is pre-recorded and you can watch it at your own pace each week. Then the mentor calls, where you can get hands-on help, are hosted at specific times each week, covering a range of time zones.

You'll get access to multiple group mentorship calls every week, where you can get feedback, support, or have our team of professional producers review your tracks in real time. These calls take place on Zoom and you will take it in turns to unmute and speak 1-to-1 to the mentor in a group setting. You can share your screen and open up your DAW if needed and the mentor can do the same.

To an extent, yes. The curriculum is designed to go at your own pace, however access to the mentorship calls only lasts for the duration of the program (6 weeks). We highly advise that you try to keep up with the live cohort and finish each week as we go. But if you fall behind, you can catch up later without the mentor calls.

If anything, the earlier you are in your journey, and the further your music is from a pro standard... the bigger the improvement you're going to see. At the very least, we recommend you have some basic knowledge of how to navigate your DAW, otherwise you could struggle to keep up. Outside of that, we cover everything else.

You don't need a perfect room to significantly improve your music. You should continue to improve the quality of your work while gaining new knowledge IN TANDEM with improving on your room over the long term. Otherwise, you'll get stuck on your room and won't make any progress until you have the "perfect" setup.

How has that worked for you so far? Sure, you could eventually learn this stuff through repetition and practice... but it's going to take you decades to get to the same point as everyone else. Instead of reinventing the wheel, it's much quicker to learn from somebody else's experience and mistakes.

The program will be hosted entirely on Skool, an online learning platform. The curriculum is pre-recorded and hosted inside Skool. You can watch the lessons at your own pace then bring your questions and assignments to the live mentor calls.

No, what you're going to learn is totally agnostic to the genre of music. Remember, it's mastering the PRINCIPLES of music and audio production that's important. Once you do that, you have the building blocks for any genre or type of music.

We use Logic Pro, but it doesn't really matter. The techniques you use are the exact same in all DAWs. You'll be able to follow along regardless of which DAW you use.

No. Better gear will certainly help BUT the first step is developing your knowledge and skills. Only after that should you think about upgrading your gear. That way, you're using it to its full potential, instead of having a bunch of expensive gear you don't actually know how to use.
