Time for your next activity.
You're going to be creating the most iconic use of parallel compression in modern music.
Parallel drum compression, AKA New York Style Compression.
If you've ever wondered why drums sound so huge, so thick, AND so punchy (all at the same time)...
This is probably why.
So your assignment is to create some aggressive thickness style compression on a parallel drum track. Then mix it in quietly and listen to the difference.
I've included my own version in the folder to give you a target to shoot for.
