We highly advise you to complete these assignments. It's no good having this knowledge rattling around in your head - you need to actually apply it.
After all, the best way to internalize something is by doing it. Not by reading about it, or by watching a video.

If you're really pushed for time, you can always skip these assignments.
Now that that's over with, let's talk about this first activity.
This one is very simple. We've provided some audio files of a few different instruments.
Import them into your DAW, and add an EQ plugin on each.
Then boost a filter by +12dBs (at a Q of 1.0) and sweep it around the frequency spectrum.
All you have to do for this assignment is to listen. What does each part of the frequency spectrum sound like when you sweep across it? How would you describe it? Warm? Bright? Harsh? Use whatever word feels best.
